■ NEAT initiative helps bridge a technical gap
✅Union Education Minister & Skill Development Minister Dharmendra Pradhan recently launched “National
Educational. Alliance for Technology (NEAT) 3.0.
✅It was launched as a single platform for providing the best-developed ed-tech solutions and courses to the students in India.
✅The government also plans to distribute free coupons for an array of courses offered by ed-tech companies under the initiative.
● About National Educational Alliance for Technology (NEAT) 3.0
✅It is an initiative for providing the use of best-developed technological solutions in education sector for enhancing the employability of youth on a single platform for the convenience of learners.
✅These solutions use artificial intelligence for a customised and personalised experience for better
learning outcomes and skill development across niche areas.
✅It will play a significant role in bridging the digtal divide, particularly among the economically disadvantaged
✅It will also aid to fulfil the knowledge-based requirement of India & world.
✅Presently, 58 global and Indian start-up ed-tech companies are working under the programme.
✅Under NEAT 3.0, more than 12 lakhs socially and economically disadvantaged students have been provided free ed-tech course coupons worth over Rs 253 crore.
● About National Educational Alliance for Technology (NEAT)
✅The scheme is to use Artificial Intelligence to make learning more personalized and customized as per the requirements of the learner.
✅Ministry of Education aims to recognize the development of technologies in Adaptive Learning and bring them under a common platform So that learners can access it easily.
✅It proposed to create a National Alliance with such technology developing EdTech Companies through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
✅Ministry of Education would act as a facilitator to ensure that the Adaptive Learning Solutions are freely available
to a large number of economically backward students.
✅National NEAT platform is also created under the scheme to provide one-stop access to Adaptive Learning Solutions.
✅EdTech companies would develop solutions and manage the registration of learners through the NEAT portal.
✅It is aimed at taking the concept of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCS) platform a step ahead.
✅Implementing Agency: All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)
✅Bridging Digital divide: NEAT will bridge the digital divide and fulflling the knowledge-based requirement of the world especially among the economically disadvantaged students and also in fulfiling the knowledge-based requirement of India and the world.
✅Promoting 21st Century employability: NEAT to be integrated with skill India, to tap opportunities in emerging 21st-century skills to boost employability and prepare our youth for the future.
● All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)
✅It was established in November 1945 as a national-level apex advisory body.
✅Its conducts a survey on the facilities available for technical education and to promote development in the country in a coordinated and integrated manner.
✅Under National Policy of Education (1986), AICTE is vested with:
✅Statutory authority for planning, formulation, and maintenance of norms & standards,
✅Quality assurance through accreditation,
✅Funding in priority areas, monitoring, and evaluation,
✅Maintaining parity of certification & awards,
✅The management of technical education in the country.
